Meet the Dr. Don C. Hines
Statement from the Dr. Hines
First of all, I appreciate the opportunity to again serve Troy University and appreciate
the support and confidence shown by Chancellor Hawkins and Executive Vice Chancellor
Roach in making my appointment to this position. Also, I appreciate the opportunity
to serve the broader community of students, alumni, faculty and businesses under
the “One Great University” umbrella. I have for many years believed that the whole
of Troy University has greatly exceeded the sum of the parts and I embrace this
concept with great enthusiasm. My highest priority is to create an environment within
the Sorrell College where all our parts, from Heidelberg, Germany to Sharjah, UAE
to Troy, Alabama, and all places in between, feel an equal participant in what we
do.
While we have created a structure to support our students, faculty and other constituencies,
know that the Dean’s door is always open. Fortunately, I have inherited Dinah Livingston
as an Administrative Assistant. She has served the Sorrell College for many years
and you should also feel free to contact her.
Many of you I know from my previous associations with Troy University and many I
have yet to meet. I have provided a link below for you to explore that will allow
us to get better acquainted. Also you need to know that occasionally the “cowboy”
in me comes out and understand this is not my first rodeo.
