Accounting Society

Part of the mission of the TSU Accounting Program is to prepare our students for entry-level opportunities and long-term career success in public accounting. Consequently, our relationships with the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firms are an important element of both our students' educational experience and their subsequent professional opportunities. The TSU Accounting Society assists in fostering and maintaining our relationships with these CPA firms by hosting regular meetings that provide a forum for firm representatives to present programs to our accounting students. Established in the late nineteen-eighties, the Society also provides opportunities for our accounting majors to develop relationships with other accounting majors while they learn about all aspects of the accounting profession.

Delta Mu Delta is the International Honor Society for business programs accredited by the ACBSP at the baccalaureate/graduate level.

Delta Mu Delta Motto
The Greek letters in the Society's name stand for Dia Mathessos Dynamis, signifying Delta Mu Delta's motto: Through Knowledge, Power
the power to manage creatively for social and economic good.

Becoming a member of Delta Mu Delta is an honor indicative of earnest, intelligent purpose and rewarding achievement. This should be a goal of every person pursuing a degree in business administration where Delta Mu Delta membership is possible.

Delta Mu Delta is a business honor society that recognizes and encourages academic excellence of students and qualifying colleges and universities to create a DMD community that fosters the well-being of its individual members and the business community through life-time membership.

Phi Gamma Nu

Phi Gamma Nu is a nationally recognized business fraternity for any business major founded on February 17, 1924, on Northwestern University. There are over 90 collegiate Chapters and 20 alumni Chapters. Beta Iota Chapter was chartered at Troy State University on March 2, 1974 and reorganized Fall 1995. The organizations main goals are to foster the study of business, while promoting professional competency in the field of business, and to further a high standard of ethics and culture in civic and professional enterprises. Any student who has completed at least five credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0/4.0 is eligible for membership.

Society for Advancement of Management

Chartered at Troy State University for management majors in May 1990, the expressed purpose of SAM is to foster an interest and awareness of management along with development of management skills by its members. SAM accomplishes its purpose by coordinating industry leaders to speak to its members, conducting tours of leading companies in our region (e.g., visits to Exxon production plant in Mobile, Russell's automated mills in Wetumpka and Alexander City, Dorsey Trailer, and Textron), and conducting functions that promote development of management skills, recognition and employability of its members. SAM welcomes the participation of students of all majors and recognizes leadership and academic excellence at its annual awards dinner.

Students in Free Enterprise

Students in Free Enterprise is an organization whose goal is to promote an understanding of the free enterprise system through educational projects. The mission of SIFE is to provide college students the best opportunity to make a difference and to develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills through learning, practicing, and teaching educational projects which teach the principles of free enterprise.

TSU - American Marketing Association

The TSU-AMA Marketing Club is a collegiate affiliate chapter of the American Marketing Association. The purpose of the club is promote further understanding of the practice of marketing to the marketing student and marketing majors. The club sponsors annual events such as a field trip to a major market, guest speakers, and a banquet that honors TSU marketing graduates who have distinguished themselves in the marketing profession. The club was established at TSU in 1989.
